ABOUT

About me

I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist based on Harley Street in London, offering therapy both in person and online for adults who want to improve their lives and gain a greater sense of contentment.

I specialise in helping high-achieving professionals who find themselves struggling beneath the surface, even when life appears “fine” from the outside.

My work centres on giving you room to pause, reflect, and speak openly without judgement. My aim is for clients to feel entirely safe and free to reveal their innermost thoughts or open up about experiences which they may not have felt able to share with anyone else.

Many of the people I support spend their lives caring for others, meeting expectations, or carrying responsibilities that leave little space for their own emotional wellbeing. Therapy offers a quiet place to turn towards yourself again and start to make positive changes in your life.

My style is warm, calm and grounded. I work alongside you to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, emotionally, psychologically, and in the realities of your day-to-day life.

I draw from several therapeutic models and adapt them carefully to what you need. For some, therapy begins with simply being heard after years of holding things in.

For others, it’s about making sense of long-standing patterns, internal pressure, or a growing feeling that something needs to shift and a need to make a positive change.

My approach

Private Therapy in London and Online

Whether we meet on Harley Street or online, my intention is the same: to offer you a steady, thoughtful space where you can feel understood and supported in moving forward with your life.

Who I work with

I predominantly support adults who are balancing demanding careers, family responsibilities, caring roles, or periods of transition. They are often thoughtful, capable, and resilient, yet privately overwhelmed.

People come to me with:

  • burnout and chronic stress

  • anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • perfectionism and high internal expectations

  • a loss of purpose, direction or motivation

  • a loss of joy and contentment

  • a crisis of confidence

  • strains in their relationships – with partners, family, friends and/or colleagues.

  • difficulty switching off or slowing down

  • the sense that they’re coping on the outside but struggling internally

Whether you prefer to come in person to Harley Street or connect virtually, we work in a way that feels comfortable, consistent, and manageable within your life.

I love helping people navigate the quiet, often hidden struggles that come with responsibility, ambition, and caring for others. I’m continually moved by the courage it takes to acknowledge that something doesn’t feel right and the relief that follows when someone finally has space to explore it.

It is so rewarding to witness clients grow in confidence and strength in dealing with life’s challenges and gain a greater sense of control.

Therapy doesn’t have to be dramatic or urgent to be valuable. Often, it’s simply the first moment in a long time where you can breathe, reflect, and begin to understand yourself again.

WORKING TOGETHER

You’re welcome to see me in person on Harley Street or online, depending on what feels most comfortable and practical for you. Both options are equally effective, and many clients move between the two as their schedule or needs change.

If something here resonates, I invite you to reach out. The first step is a free 15-minute consultation, where we can talk briefly about what’s bringing you here and explore how I can help you.

Dr Wendy Piatt BA, MPhil, PhD (Oxon), MBACP

I have enjoyed an extensive career in senior management and high-profile roles working with leaders at the highest levels of business, media, government, charities and academia.

This has given me a deep understanding of the particular pressures facing high-performing individuals who work in fast-paced, demanding, competitive environments or who have to juggle often competing priorities. I have a rare understanding of the pressures of being in the spotlight and public eye.

Working in the NHS Counselling Service has also given me invaluable experience of a diverse range of conditions and presenting issues and clients from many different backgrounds.

I hold undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Oxford University and King’s College London and qualifications from Regent’s University and The Awareness Centre.

My training reflects a long-standing commitment to understanding human behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and the ways we grow and adapt throughout our lives.

I’m also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), which means I work to the highest professional and ethical standards.
